The Registration Link for the various Skills Competitions  are now active (as of 10:00pm, 6/4/24). You may now start signing up your players for the Skills Events. Please read carefully, and please note: only coaches and/or team managers are to complete the registrations for the various events! 

REGISTRATION FOR THE SKILL EVENTS CLOSES at MIDNIGHT on THURSDAY 6/13 FOR ODD AGES and THURSDAY 6/20 FOR EVEN AGES.

COACHES AND TEAM MANAGERS ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN UP THEIR PLAYERS FOR THE SKILL COMPETITION EVENTS. The only exception is the DeMarini EXIT VELO challenge, which is open to all players!

DeMarini Exit Velo Skills Challenge
THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT BAKERSFIELD PARK ON JUNE 15TH & JUNE 22ND. 

The wonderful folks at D-BAT Lewisville are once again running this event! The EXIT VELO CHALLENGE WILL TAKE PLACE ADJACENT TO THE MAIN BASEBALL PAVILLION WHICH IS SERVING AS THE WILSON D-BAT LEWISVILLE PRO SHOP! This event replaces the former Home Run Derby.

The DEMARINI EXIT VELO Skills Challenge will be take place at Bakersfield park this year! 

Winning Players of each age group receive a 2025 Model Year Bat from Wilson Sports. (There will be one (1) winning player for each of the seven (7) age groups in the Natty.)  

COME ONE COME ALL, HOW HARD CAN YOU HIT THAT BALL!!! 

Rules: are very straight forward, participant will get 6 swings from a tee. There is a rope strung across the cage that the ball flight from the tee must be above in order to count as a measurable swing. Any ball hit above the rope will have an exit velocity captured and displayed via a mounted radar gun inside the cage. Radar Gun will be stationary for all participants. the highest exit velocity by age group will be displayed throughout the day on the board next to the cage. Any hit ball that does not go above the rope will be counted as of the 6 attempts even though there is no velocity recorded.  The highest exit velocity by age group at the 2pm cut-off will win a new bat courtesy of Wilson Sports.

The exit velo challenge will NOT require any prior registration!  This event will run throughout the day up until 2pm, and takes place just outside the pavilion (D-BAT Lewisville Pro-Shop) in the inflatable cage. Participants are welcome to continue to improve their scores throughout the day until the 2pm deadline.

That's right, this event is OPEN to ALL players from each Registered Team! So, this is the only event where pre-registration is not required. 

DeMarini CF Zen demo bats may be used used by HRD participants if provided. These demo bats, if provided by Wilson for Exit Velo participants, may be used if desired.  (The CF Zen demo bats will be set up accordingly by age/size requirements to try to accommodate as many participants as possible.) Exit Velo participants may use their own bats, and should come prepared to use their own bats. (No shaved, rolled, or altered bats may be used for the Exit Velo Challenge).

The winning players will be announced and awarded on site at the end of the Exit Velo Challenge!

Wilson FungoMan Fielding Challenge

Each Player from the Winning Teams Receives a $150 Gift Certificate from Wilson Sports! (The gift certificates may only be used online.)

Teams consisting of four (4) infielders (1B, 2B, 3B and SS) will compete in this unique fielding competition.

Twenty Eight (28) total Wilson Gift Certificates will be awarded!

The winning teams will be announced and interviewed LIVE at the D-BAT/WILSON Pro Shop on-site at Bakersfield Park!

EvoShield Around The Horn Skills Challenge

Winning Teams Receive "EvoShield Branded SWAG", one set of SWAG for each winning player! (There will be one winning team of five (5) players for each of the age groups in the National Championship event.)

Teams consisting of a five (5) person infield (Catcher, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B) will compete in a timed "Around the Horn Challenge" infield throwing competition.

Thirty Five (35) Total sets of EvoShield SWAG will be awarded! (5 Swag Bags per Age Group!)

The winning teams will be announced and interviewed LIVE at the D-BAT/WILSON Pro Shop on-site at Bakersfield Park!

Only a Coach or Team Manager can register a team of 5 players - no individual registrations.

Maximum of 2 teams (from your team) can be entered in this event.

EvoShield Carbyne FASTEST PLAYER Challenge

Winning Players Receive a New Pair EvoShield CARBYNE BATTING GLOVES! One (1) pair for each of the seven (7) winners. (There will be one (1) winning player for each of the age groups in the Natty!)

Up to 3 players may compete from each Registered Team.

All players (all ages) will compete in a timed running challenge from home plate to home plate, as if they had hit an inside the park homerun! (BASE PATH DISTANCE will be 70-foot bases. Practice accordingly if entering this event.

Seven (7) Pairs of EvoShield Carbyne Batting Gloves will be awarded.

The winning players will be announced and interviewed LIVE at the D-BAT/WILSON Pro Shop on-site at Bakersfield Park!

Dicks Sporting Goods FASTEST PITCH Challenge

Winning Players Receive two (2) Dick’s Sporting Goods $50 Bonus Certificates ($100 in total). One (1) winning player at each Age Group, seven (7) total winning players!

Up to 3 players may compete from each Registered Team.

All players (all ages) will compete within these Rules:

1)    Warmup Required. Competing Player must supply a warmup partner.

2)    Each player will have a total of 5 throws in the competition.

3)    Distances:

a.     8U throws from 40’ (flat ground)

b.     9U/10U throws from 46' (flat ground) 

c.     11U/12U, throws from 50’ (flat ground)

d.     13U throws from 54’ (mound)

e.     14U throws from 60' (mound)

4)    Fastest Pitch (from the 5 throws) will be recorded

The winning players (1 player from each Age Group) will be announced and interviewed LIVE at the D-BAT/WILSON Pro Shop on-site at Bakersfield Park!

Louisville Slugger Coaches Fungo Challenge

• Winning Coaches receive a new Louisville Slugger Fungo Bat
• Two (2) Louisville Slugger Fungo Bats will be awarded; one (1) each week to the winning coach (June 15th & June 22nd).
• Open to registered Coaches from the National Championship only.
• One Coach per team may register and participate.

The Parade of Teams is once again sponsored by the Huffine's Auto Group of Lewisville.

The Parade of Teams is a celebration of and for the players that LOVE THIS GREAT GAME!

It also features our traditional HAT TOSS after the National Anthem is played!

Pin Trading at Bakersfield Park
We don't schedule a specific time and place for pin trading, as we have found the kids much more enjoy "trading on the fly"; on Opening Day Saturday at Bakersfield Park, before and after the Skills Events, and at the Parade of Teams, etc. A lot of PIN TRADING will happen at the "NATTY LIVE" Fun Zone!

D-BAT Lewisville will have Official Trading Pins, and Official Trading Pin Towels for sale at their Wilson Merchandise Tent at Bakersfield Park on Opening Days.

Tailgating at Bakersfield Park
If you've been here before, you know to come early and claim a great spot for the day! Gates will open at 6:00 AM and all parking is first come, first served (no saving spots). The main parking lot will fill up early! Come out and MAKE THIS A GREAT OPENING DAY EXPERIENCE FOR THE KIDS!

Regarding Grills - personal grills must be confined to the parking lot area. Please do not bring grills into the ballfield areas, it's too much of a safety hazard and the Town of Flower Mound will not allow it.

Regarding RV's - while RV's are welcome on GAME DAY's, we are simply to FULL on Opening Day to accommodate RV's at Bakersfield Park. RV's must park at the overflow lot on both Opening Day Saturday's. Thank you for understanding!
